Kayak Training

Safety First

Your personal safety is our highest priority. All our expedition guides and instructors have a minumum of 4 years guiding experience. They are trained in wilderness first aid and a current Canadian Coast Guard marine radio operators license.

All lessons are in the calm waters of Indian Arm at Deep Cove.

Basic Kayak Training

This beginner course will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to comfortably pursue this exciting sport.

In this 3 hour lesson we will cover the ocean kayak and related equipment, the five basic strokes, entering and exiting your kayak and the kayak wet exit.

Advanced Kayaking

This advanced level course is designed to assist the comfortable paddler in acquiring his or her paddling confidence in all types of weather and conditions. Self rescue, trip planning, navigation, tides, currents and exposure are all covered in this course.

Prerequisites: Basic Kayaking or equivalent experience.

Tuition: $55.00

Rescue and Recovery

This advanced Rescue course focuses on assisted and solo capsize and emergency procedures. This is a must for anyone who intends to kayak in remote or wilderness environments.

Wet suit provided.
